198. PJ Harvey [NEW]

The Cave Singers were the highest charting debut artist this year, sneaking into the top 100 on the strength of their outstanding album, No Witch. Cut Copy almost duplicated that feat, finishing at 108 thanks to their album Zonoscope. Both bands have been around for several years now, but 2011 was the year they came to my attention, and I'm pretty sure both artists will be staples in the rotation for years to come.

The biggest leap in the bottom 50 was made by Wolf Parade, who jumped a whopping 419 spots to land at number 66. This was another good year for Dan Boeckner who, in addition to being a part of Wolf Parade, is also the lead singer for the Handsome Furs who will be making an appearance in the top 50.

I'll be revealing the top half of the list on Friday, so check back then for that, and there's still plenty of time to vote in this year's Dynammy Awards for Best Album, Best Song, and Best Sound Quality. Click here to hear all the nominees and then cast your vote.
